[Review] Laurus Blanc: A Trendsetting Gastronomic Experience in The Hyundai Seoul

Discovering Culinary Delights in Seoul’s Hot Spot

Nestled in the bustling heart of Yeouido, The Hyundai Seoul stands out as one of the city’s most fashionable destinations, especially known for its food court that gathers Seoul’s finest eateries. Among these culinary gems is Laurus Blanc, a dessert café with a flair for brunch, located amidst chic clothing stores on the third floor.

Modern Elegance Meets Nature: The Interior Aesthetics of Laurus Blanc

Laurus Blanc presents an elegantly sophisticated interior, where the overall ambiance is dominated by stone textures that exude a refined and modern feel. The space is thoughtfully accentuated with vibrant green potted plants, bringing a touch of nature and freshness into the urban chic setting. Adding to this stylish ensemble, shelves are adorned with an array of glassware in soothing shades of blue and green, providing a subtle yet impactful color contrast. These carefully placed decorative elements not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also create a serene and welcoming atmosphere, making Laurus Blanc a perfect blend of contemporary design and natural elegance.

A Fusion of Flavor and Style

My recent visit to Laurus Blanc was conveniently managed through The Hyundai Food Hall(현대식품관) app, which allowed me to reserve a spot with minimal wait time, usually around 1-2 parties on weekdays. The waiting list can also be joined using a device located right in front of the store.

The menu at Laurus Blanc is a delightful exploration of tastes. I opted for the Prosciutto Mushroom Galette Set, comprising a Prosciutto Mushroom Galette, a scone, and a Mushroom Soup. The Mushroom Soup, evidently hand-blended, had a pleasantly thick texture and was quite flavorful. The galette was a masterpiece, layered with sautéed mushrooms, sausage, scrambled eggs, avocado, ham, and fresh basil on a chewy base. While each ingredient was delicious in its own right, the harmony of the entire brunch ensemble on the galette is subject to personal taste.

The scone, served with a mixed butter, was satisfactory but not exceptional. However, the Ice Milk Tea stood out with its authentic brew mixed with milk, offering a fragrant delight.

Visually, the dishes were a feast for the eyes, with edible flowers adding a touch of elegance, perfect for those who love to capture their food moments.

On a future visit, I might lean towards trying their sandwiches or French toast. Overall, with minimal waiting times and a view overlooking the interior of the department store, Laurus Blanc offers a serene escape, ideal for recharging during a shopping spree.
